Ques 1: What is the relationship between IILM College and the University of Bradford?

Ans: IILM is an Associate Partner of the University of Bradford, it offers undergraduate program of the School of Management since 1996.

Ques 2: What is the ranking of the University of Bradford in the legion of UK Universities?

Ans: The University of Bradford located in Bradford, Yorkshire which is 200 miles by road from London. It is a member of an elite group of Triple Accredited Business Schools in the world, one of Europe’s leading and oldest university-based business schools. It offers undergraduate, MSc, MBA, research and corporate education programmes in the UK and has global campuses across Europe, the Gulf region, China, India, Malaysia and Singapore.
They have been accredited by EQUIS (European Foundation for Management Development) since 2000 – the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. Their MBA programmes were amongst the first to receive accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA). Their final element of “Triple Crown” of accreditations came in 2012, when they received international AACSB accreditation of all our business programmes.

Ques 3: What are the Degrees awarded and who awards the Degree?

Ans: Upon successful completion of your studies, you will be awarded a degree by the University of Bradford. IILM holds a "Graduation Ceremony" where the successful graduands are awarded the degree by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bradford.
The Degrees awarded are B.Sc (Honours) in Business and Management, B.Sc (Honours) in Accounting and Finance and B.Sc (Honours) in Marketing.

Ques 4: Are these Degrees of the Bradford University recognized?

Ans: The University of Bradford is one of the world's leading academic institutions, and its degrees are internationally recognized. The students have the following options to pursue further studies in India and abroad.
(a) In India:
• Students can apply for Postgraduate courses offered by Delhi University's Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Department of Economics, Commerce, Financial Studies and Faculty of Law.
• Students can apply for all Postgraduate courses offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Delhi University.
• Students are eligible to appear in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) which is used by B-Schools for admission to their post graduate programmes in India.
(b) Overseas:
• The University of Bradford degree is internationally accredited and accepted. After completion of the B.Sc. (H) degree, students can pursue higher studies in any college or university in the United Kingdom, USA and other countries.

Ques 5: Will I be eligible to apply to Delhi University for a Master's program?

Ans: The University of Delhi permits IILM College students to apply for Post Graduate course offered by Delhi University's Faculty of Management Studies, Department of Commerce, Economics, Financial Studies and Faculty of Law.

Ques 6: Is IILM UBS recognised by AIU?

Ans: University of Bradford is accredited by AIU. The AIU website (https://www.acu.ac.uk/membership/acumembers/?country_id=76&items_perpage=20&pageID=3) lists the accredited foreign universities as given in the Commonwealth University's handbook. University of Bradford is listed here.

Ques 7: Will I get the same degree as awarded by University of Bradford to students studying at their campus in UK?

Ans: The University of Bradford has confirmed that the degree offered by the IILM Undergraduate Business School Gurgaon is in all respects, equivalent to the degree they offer in the UK. (Please refer to the University of Bradford letter which is available on our website).

Ques 8: What is the duration of the degree programme?

Ans: It takes a minimum period of three years to complete the degree.

Ques 9: Why is the Degree offered called a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Management?

Ans: At Bradford University, as is the case in most of the western universities, the study of Management is considered a science and so it is called a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Business and Management.

Ques 10: Is the academic experience of the student enrolled for the Bradford degree at IILM the same as that of a student enrolled in the Bradford University in U.K.?

Ans: Yes. Students will get the same course content for Lectures & Tutorials. Indian students get the same quality of academic experience as those who study full time at the School of Management, University of Bradford. Examination papers are set and marked by the faculty members of the University of Bradford.

Ques 11: Is it possible to take transfer to the Bradford University or any other foreign university after finishing the first year here at IILM?

Ans: Yes, It is possible to take transfer to the University of Bradford both in the second and third years provided you fulfill the credit requirements of the first and second year respectively. You may also take transfers to the Universities in the UK and US.

Ques 12: What are the Universities those students from IILM have taken transfer to in the past?

Ans: Students from IILM have taken transfers to some of the best and reputed Universities in UK. Warwick, London School of Economics, Leeds, Lancaster, Cardiff, Wharton to name a few. Our students are accepted internationally because of the acceptability of Bradford as an International University.

Ques 13: When and where are the Examinations held?

Ans: The examinations are held at IILM College Gurgaon on fixed dates in January and May and the supplementary examinations are held in August each year. The papers are set at Bradford University and dispatched for the second marking in Bradford University, with the first marking done by the IILM faculty. Final marks are received from Bradford University.

Ques 14: What is an average class size?

Ans: The class size for lectures is 50 students and for tutorials it is 25 students.

Ques 15: What is unique about IILM teaching methodology?

Ans: The methods of teaching used at the IILM College Gurgaon are as per the guidelines of University of Bradford. The basic teaching tools are:

• Lectures: Lectures by faculty members give students basics on how to approach the course. It becomes the starting point of thinking and reading the course.
• Tutorials and Discussions: The tutorials with small class size, take up application oriented issues, solving problems, case studies and discussions on issues concerning various topics.
• Seminars/Presentations: Seminars and Presentations involve a small group of students.
• Blackboard: Blackboard is a virtual learning environment (VLE) that enables faculty members and students to share learning material, communicate and collaborate on-line. It is web based and can therefore be accessed from any computer with a web browser and Internet connection.
• Guest Lectures: Guest Lectures by eminent personalities in business and social sectors are conducted on a regular basis to provide students with valuable insight into contemporary business and industrial perspectives and the current socio-economic environment.
• Industry Visits: Industry visits are organized to provide a proper understanding of the industrial sector and relate theory to real life situation.
• Coursework: Most modules require coursework assignments, which may be individual or group projects, wherein students are expected to apply the concepts to real life management problems.

Ques 16: What is the profile of the faculty teaching at IILM?

Ans: The faculties teaching the Bradford programme are well qualified and their appointments are also approved by the University of Bradford. Faculty from the University of Bradford visit IILM at regular intervals to meet faculty, discuss syllabi and delivery, and give lectures to the students. In addition, the Director of Studies for the programme from the University of Bradford visits IILM approximately three times each year. The Director of Studies monitors and facilitates in getting the required academic support to ensure quality and provide a similar teaching and learning experience as that of Bradford to IILM students.

Ques 17: Does IILM offer placement and internship opportunities to the students of the undergraduate course?

Ans: At IILM we prepare our students to be the leaders of tomorrow. In the summer we provide the students with the unique opportunity of applying the skills acquired by way of a summer internship in an industry of their choice. Students can choose from amongst a wide variety of companies from different industries such as Banking and Finance, Marketing, FMCG, Hospitality etc to do a summer internship.
Interested students may also apply for placement opportunities and the Institute's placement cell works towards arranging placement opportunities to qualified students.

Ques 18: Does IILM offer Scholarship?

Ans: Yes, IILM and the University of Bradford offer a month scholarship trip to 8 deserving students every year. The students get to attend classes at the School of Management at Bradford during the scholarship visit. The students are selected on the basis of their past academic and extracurricular performances and an interview process.

Ques 21: What are the other aspects of student life at IILM?

Ans: IILM believes in holistic development of the students, along with the academics rigour. IILM helps students to unwind by encouraging their active participation in a number of extracurricular activities like, sports, dramatics, dancing, singing, social service etc through societies and clubs which are run by the student body.

Ques 22: What is the admission process at IILM ?

Ans: To apply please submit online application* form on our website www.college.iilm.edu or hard copy of the form and keep the following documents with you on the day of the Personal Interview.
• Photocopy of X and XII mark sheet (with originals)
• Character Certificate from School (with originals)
• School leaving certificate (with originals)

Ques 23: What are the eligibility criteria for admission in the Undergraduate programme?

Ans: Prospective candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate programs of the institute should have completed 13 years of education under the Indian Education system (CSBE or ICSE) or any equivalent Board in India or overseas, with English and Mathematics at the class X level. Candidates from abroad should have completed their A levels (under the British system) and for the IB students, they should have achieved the IB diploma.

Ques 24: When will the classes for batch 2013-16 start?

Ans: Classes for Undergraduate batch shall begin from August 2013.

Ques 25: What is the cost of the programme?

Ans: The fee for the 3 year program is 10.8 lacs (inclusive of meals)+ 850 pounds per year.

Ques 26: How much of my fees is refundable?

Ans: Security Deposit is refundable.

Ques 27: Do you have hostel facilities and what are the expenses?

Ans: Secure on campus hostel facilities for girls and off campus hostel facilities for boys within 1 km.
Rs 90,000 per year (inclusive of hostel + meals).

Ques 28: Do you have bus facility on daily basis?

Ans: No, We only offer transport from hostel to campus and back to hostel for Gurgaon students.

Ques 29: Can I take lateral entry into Stage 1,2 or 3 at IILM?

Ans: Yes, students studying in International or National Universities can take lateral entry into IILM Bsc. Hons. in Business and Management program. They need to submit their transcripts to IILM for evaluation. The transcripts are sent to Bradford for approval. The student can join the program on receipt of the approval.
